Graphene

The strongest, lightest,
most conductive material.

Graphene is a two-dimensional material made of carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb lattice, just one atom thick. Separated from graphite — the material of pencil lead — it is often called a “wonder material.”

The strongest, lightest and most conductive material known. Using our own production process, we manufacture graphene and graphene quantum dots at scale.

From Graphite

From pencil lead
to a single atomic layer.

Graphite, the material of pencil lead, is made of thin layers of carbon atoms arranged in hexagons, stacked on top of each other. Bonds within each layer are strong, while bonds between layers are weak — which is why a pencil can write on paper. A single one of those layers is graphene.

In 2004, Professors Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov at the University of Manchester isolated graphene by the simple method of peeling layers off graphite with adhesive tape, and received the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics.

Material Development

Blendable.
Interweavable.

Our graphene composite filaments and staple fibers can be blended with many other fibers, including modal, Tencel, viscose, cotton and acrylic. Filaments can be interwoven to meet different functional requirements, and graphene’s large surface area and far-infrared absorption create nano-porous fibers that greatly improve overall performance such as breathability and warmth.
